I
lived everywhere as a kid, LA, DC, Chi-town, to
name a few, which made me a self-proclaimed gypsy
and an ideal DJ in the making. I was also never
the kid that called a radio station and if you told
me that I was gonna be a DJ, I probably would have
called you a liar. But here I am and there you are
and now I'm gonna try not to bore you by talking
about myself for half a page.
I sucked in school... I mean, really sucked. The
only thing studying made me want to do was fall
asleep, so it was either become a flight attendant
(Southwest never invited me back for a 2nd interview)
or be a cocktail waitress, but I knew enough to
know that I didn't want to be that leathery-faced
woman with the blue eyeliner that had about 15 years
on the rest of the other waitresses and a cat for
every guy who left her.
So after dropping out of ASU and working at a golf
course in Phoenix, I begged a friend to let me know
if anything opened up at KZON, the radio station
where she worked. She got me an interview and when
asked "what was the most creative thing you
have done lately", I naturally told the panel
about a practical joke that I had recently pulled
on a very hetero buddy that involved some rainbow
stickers from a gay pride shop and his police car
- ask me about it sometime, it's hilarious.
The rest is history... and on my resume.
Ciao,
Whitney |
